In December 2025, the Indigenous Centre for Occupational Health & Public Safety entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety to strengthen workplace health and safety in Indigenous communities across Canada.

This partnership is grounded in a shared belief that all people deserve healthy and safe working environments. Together, ICOHPS and CCOHS are working to advance workplace safety in ways that respect Indigenous experiences, priorities, and community realities.
The agreement supports collaboration on safety programs, tools, and initiatives, including the development of culturally relevant resources, engagement with government and industry partners, and national dialogue focused on Indigenous occupational health and safety.
By combining expertise and resources, this partnership aims to create practical solutions that help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses while supporting the well-being of Indigenous workers and communities.
